Sitting With the Discomfort

There is a discomfort in my belly.
It’s not dramatic.
It’s not loud.
But it’s there.
And my first instinct is to make it go away.
Eat something.
Drink something.
Scroll something.
Do something.
I just want to feel differently.
But right now, this is the way I feel.
So I stay.
I sit still and look deep within. I feel exactly where the pain is located. It’s in the belly... that solar plexus space... tight, unsettled. A quiet anxiety. A sense that something should be different.
I feel like my life should look different.
I feel like I should have more confidence at this point in my life.
I feel like I should trust more by now.
And then the questions come.
Why don’t I trust the process?
Why is it so hard to sit in the unknown?
Why does this feel uncomfortable?
The mind has many answers.
Most of them are not kind.
But I’m learning something.
If I don’t fully experience even the difficulty, it will return.
So I stay with it.
I don’t fix it.
I don’t override it.
I don’t spiritually bypass it.
I feel it.
When I bring awareness to that solar plexus, something interesting happens. The energy begins to move. It doesn’t stay stuck. It rises.
Now it’s in the heart center.
Expansive. Softer. More open.
Talking about it brings awareness to it. Writing about it brings awareness to it. Awareness itself moves the energy.
If we move through it too quickly, we don’t allow the energy to move. It gets stuck. But when I stay, when I breathe, when I feel exactly what is here without trying to change it... it shifts.
My body tells me the truth.
The mind lies to me.
The mind says I should be further along.
The body says, stay.
The mind says something is wrong.
The body says, this is just energy moving.
The mind says fix it.
The body says, feel it.
And growth happens here.
Not in the fixing.
Not in the performing.
Not in looking confident.
Growth happens in the staying.
In the unknown.
In the willingness to sit with discomfort and not run.
I am learning that discomfort is not a mistake. It is movement. It is evolution. It is life reorganizing itself inside of me.
When I trust the process, it doesn’t mean I feel peaceful all the time. It means I am willing to feel what is true.
And what is true right now is this:
Energy moves when I stay with it.
Confidence grows when I stop fighting myself.
Trust deepens when I stop demanding that life look different.
There is nothing wrong here.
There is only something moving through.
And if I allow it...
it will move.
